Sunshine, Snacks and Smiles: Why We Love Summer Events

There’s just something about summer. The longer days, the fresh air, the fact that drinks taste better in the sunshine. It’s our busiest season with lots of travel involved, but we love it! Summer just creates the perfect backdrop and makes all the venues sparkle – a wonderful recipe for great events and, as a team, we get to swap jackets for sunglasses!

Whether it’s a corporate family fun day, a team-building retreat, or a European roadshow stop, we’ve seen how summer can lift a simple event and make it something people remember for years.

So, if you’re still wondering whether a summer event is worth the effort, here are a few reasons we think it absolutely is – and why now might be the perfect time to start planning yours.

1. People Are Already Up-For-It

Let’s be honest: sunshine improves just about everything. Delegates arrive in a better mood, people are more open to interaction, and you can get away with things like lawn games or ice cream vans without anyone blinking. (In fact, they’ll thank you for it.)

We always say that a successful event is part planning and part atmosphere – and summer gives you the atmosphere for free.

2. Outdoor Spaces = More Creativity

With the great outdoors at your disposal, your options open right up. We’ve delivered everything from garden-style awards nights to alfresco panel talks and inflatable assault courses in business parks.

You want a mobile pizza oven? Done. Want a custom-branded bar in a marquee with fairy lights and live music? Absolutely. Want a tent full of puppies as a wellness tent? We’re not saying we’ve done it… but yes, we have!!

3. People Love a Break from the Norm

The middle of the year can be a tough spot – the new-year motivation has waned, but year-end still feels ages away. A summer event is the perfect way to re-energise your team, celebrate milestones, and get people connecting again.

It could be a relaxed BBQ for staff and their families or a more structured afternoon with awards, speeches and entertainment, it brings a different energy that office-based or online activities often can’t match.

4. Logistics Still Matter (and That’s Where We Come In)

Of course, just because it’s summer doesn’t mean the logistics go on holiday. Quite the opposite. Coordinating outdoor space, weather plans (British summer at its unpredictable best), catering, travel, accommodation, branded merchandise, and AV all still matters – probably more than ever.

That’s where we shine. Our team handles all the behind-the-scenes details so you can enjoy the sunshine worry-free and take the credit for a flawless day! Winner!

5. It’s a Great Time to Say Thank You

We love seeing businesses use summer events as a way to show appreciation. Not just to staff, but to their families, clients, or partners. Whatever your choice of event, it’s a chance to stop, say thank you, and build stronger connections.

6. It’s Not Too Late (Yet)

If you haven’t started planning your summer event yet, don’t panic – but do get a move on. The best venues and suppliers book up fast, especially for Fridays in June and July.

Even if you haven’t quite fully formed the idea or you just know you want “something different,” we can help bring it to life. The earlier we start, the more creative (and cost-effective) we can be.

So, What Could Your Summer Look Like?

A rooftop drinks reception with branded sunglasses and sunset selfies? A day in the countryside with team challenges and firepits? A cross-country roadshow that takes your message to multiple locations? Whatever your vision, we’re ready to make it happen.

And yes, we’ll bring the SPF.
